Registration of fuel prices
For the service to provide an overview of fuel prices, we rely on you as users entering this information in the app. When you update the fuel price at a given station, we get access to your location and the time you were at that location. This information will not show the exact location of your whereabouts, but that you are located within a radius of 1000 meters from the given station. We use this information to verify that the fuel prices provided are correct. We have a legitimate interest in providing a service that gives you an overview of the most affordable fuel prices closest to you. We store this information for 90 days before it is anonymized. If you don’t want us to collect this information about you, you can omit updating fuel prices in the app.
When updating fuel prices, your username, and the time you entered the information will be visible for other users. This information is stored and displayed in the app for 90 days before being anonymized. The basis for this processing is our legitimate interest. We do this to highlight the users who update the fuel prices and thus contribute to making it easier for all the other users to find the most affordable price for fuel. This feature has been added to create engagement and we assume that it will entail a higher threshold for reporting false or incorrect fuel prices. You will be able to choose your own username and whether you want to update the fuel prices, so that we consider the possible disadvantages that the feature may cause you to be less than the benefits it has for the FuelApp.
